Well swim team has been consuming my life for 3 months now and it is finally over! My daughter is the head coach and my son is a swimmer. I am a league rep and the head meet director to run every meet as well as the championship meet. So it is a family affair (except my hubby sits home LOL). We have been doing this club for 16 years now. Next year my son ages out at 18.

Well he has been working hard on his strokes this year and improved his times at champs in fly, back and free by 3 seconds. He wanted a spot so bad on the free relay team that he got his time down so he got picked. They can only pick 2 boys. The 2 fastest boys and we have a lot. He didn't eat any junk food for 3 months and worked out too. It paid off.

Well at the banquet he got chosen for the most improved swimmer. Boy you should have seen the look on his face. He picked his sister up and hugged her and hugged all the other coaches. He received a nice trophy for his efforts.

Well off to Boy Scout camp in 2 weeks. Now that will be another story!

I am SOOOOOOO mad! My SUV was broken into Tuesday night while we were sleeping and for some reason, the alarm didn't go off. My son swears he locked the door.
At least they were idiots that broke into my SUV. They didn't take any CD's in cases. They only took 20 unlabeled burned CD's of my sons. I had tons of CD's in cases that they didn't touch. They took my box of kleenex, go figure. They took maps and my SUV manual. They took a bag of name tags for my reading council and cookbooks. The also took my handicap placard and my son's driver's permit. Now that was a bummer since was were leaving early for him to drive to school and discovered the break-in.
I got all the DMV stuff replaced today. At least the line was short.

Last night I was lucky to get invited to drive and attend My Chemical Romance's final concert in San Francisco with my son and his friends. The band will be taking a 2 year break to record a new album. We saw them at the Warfield which is a nice but small venue. I was lucky to get a seat at the bar since at my age I didn't want to stand for 5 hours, especially after teaching Kindergarten all day. (And also standing in line for 1 hour to get in.) At least the kids got up to the second row so they were happy. It was a great concert! I hope I get to drive to the next one.

Last weekend I went with my son's Boy Scout troop to the snow.  When you live in California, it is a BIG deal. Most of the boys went skiing or snowboarding while my son and his best friend stayed at the cabin to play in the snow.  Originally, we were supposed to go to a snow play park with inner tubing but the boy whose mom with the car got sick and we had no transportation there. They decided that the house had a cool hill and a tube there so they built a snow fort and went tubing there. We walked into the "town", a general store and a restaurant to get lunch about a mile while it was snowing.  It was so pretty.  When we came back the boys went into the spa.  I was inside when I heard a noise.   I looked out the window and they were going tubing in their suits!  I ran and got my camera to capture this moment!  Our cabin was huge.  It slept 20.  We had such a fun time.

First of all he passed out 25 invitations.  I was panicking since our house is small.  He said not to worry that only 20 would come.  Then he gave me a list to buy the food.  My son the chef,  He was making pasta with 2 kinds of sauce, salad with feta cheese, he wanted tiramisu but I couldn't find it, settled for sundaes with toppings and smores for our firepit in the backyard for the finale.  Oh yes homemade guacamole and bruschetta for starters.  So I bought for 20 and got home and he said only 10 were coming.  Well we have food for all week now.
We have a sunroom with a spa so my hubby and son decided we had to buy new towels for the big event so off to the store again.  Oh did I mention, I am recovering from bronchitis. LOL You would think the Queen was coming over.
My hubby decided he couldn't take all the noise, (10 kids) so he left for the night with his DVD player, a bottle of wine and a plastic cup.  He sat in his van somewhere he said all night until 12:30 am.  I told him to go to my parents or brother's house.  Oh well.  Luckily we live in California where it isn't cold right now.
The party was a big success and they loved the firepit and smore making.  They used all the towels which I am washing right now.  At least I won't have to cook today.

Today happens to be Groundhog's day and both of my children's birthdays.  How did that happen?  I don't know.  They were both delivered naturally 7 years apart.  Michelle is 24 and Michael is 17 today.  Michelle prayed for her brother to be born on her birthday which was his due date.  Be careful what you pray for.  They do get along very well so I am lucky.
Well the groundhog saw his shadow today so 6 more weeks of winter.  I was hoping for an early spring. We do need the rain here in California though.
